San Miguel de Allende is located in the heart of beautiful Colonial Mexico. The San Miguel area is rich in history extending from the Silver Rush of the 16th Century, to the hard fought Mexican Revolution for independence from Spain in 1810, to the rebirth of San Miguel, as today's center for artistic and cultural events. San Miguel de Allende was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 2007.

San Miguel is internationally recognized for its marvelous light; near perfect weather; colonial architecture; and culture of art, music and gastronomy.

Mexico has received much bad press in recent years. However, San Miguel has remained safe and secure. The U.S State Department specifically exempts San Miguel from its travel advisory. Mexico is a huge country and the vast majority of it remains safe for foreign travel and investment.

Quite simply...San Miguel is magical!
